The phoenix is a mythical bird in ancient Egyptian, Phoenician and Greek mythologies. At the end of its life cycle the phoenix burns to ashes, from which a new phoenix arises and lives again. Beirut is associated with the phoenix because it has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times during its history, now to be eight.
I was born in Beirut. My family moved to the US when I was young due to the ongoing war and corruption in Lebanon. I still have family in Beirut who are living through the consequences of this corruption today. This cause is very close to my heart and I am happy to create and share this artwork for a good purpose. Proceeds will be donated to the Lebanese Food Bank in light of the recent economic crisis.
Available in 3x3" and 5x5". Printed on ultra-durable matte laminated stickers
